Summary

Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) can deliver a shock to a patient who is in cardiac arrest. Early defibrillation is crucial, and every minute without defibrillation decreases the patient's chances of survival by up to 10% (Drezner, Rogers, and Horneff, 2011).

This course can teach you how to obtain and use and AED efficiently, which can give the patient the best chance of survival.

To be able to recognise when an AED is needed.
To able to use an AED safely.

Recommended Progression:

Annual Re-qualification.
Mandatory re-qualification every 3 years.
